Found this fun site that I've yet to decide the complete underlying meaning of, but perhaps with more searching through their posts and links I'll deduce the complete mission (beyond just the simple fascination with low quality plastic cameras). As a personal observation, with the over saturation of plastic looking digital capture, heavily photoshopped imagery (eg: HDR mavens) and cellphone type snaps there will be a slow race to the aesthetic peripheries of photography where film will definitely play a roll.
Seems to be a bit of what this site is advocating.
